This Privacy Notice describes how Elegans ("Elegans," "we," "us," or "our") accesses, collects, stores, uses, and shares ("processes") your personal information when you visit elegans.style, join our early-access waitlist, or otherwise engage with us.

Elegans is a product of Estyn Software, built in partnership with Lat51. The data controller for this site is Estyn Software.

1. What information do we collect?

Information you give us

When you join the waitlist or contact us, we collect:

• Email address (required to join the waitlist).
• Optional details: first name, company/organisation, country or region.
• Optional survey answers: your responses to our short waitlist questions (e.g. your role, seasonal-staffing levels, interest level). These are optional and used only to shape early access.

We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as health, race, or biometric data).

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, limited technical information is collected to keep the site running and secure and to understand usage in aggregate — for example IP address, browser and device type, referring URLs, and pages viewed. Our analytics are privacy-friendly and cookieless; we do not build advertising profiles.

2. How do we use your information?

We process your information to:

• operate the early-access waitlist and manage your subscription;
• send you the updates you signed up for (early-access news and related Elegans content), which you can stop at any time;
• maintain the security and performance of the site and prevent abuse;
• understand aggregate site usage to improve our content; and
• comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Legal bases (EEA / Switzerland)

Where the EU GDPR applies, we rely on:

• Consent — for sending you waitlist and marketing updates. You can withdraw consent at any time (e.g. by unsubscribing).
• Legitimate interests — for keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate usage, balanced against your rights.
• Legal obligations — where we must process information to comply with the law.

4. Who we share your information with

We share personal information only with service providers ("processors") who help us operate, under contract and only as needed:

• Beehiiv, Inc. — our email/waitlist and newsletter platform. It stores your email, optional details, and survey answers and delivers our emails. Beehiiv is based in the United States. See the Beehiiv Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting and cookieless analytics. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

We may also share information for business transfers (e.g. a merger or acquisition) or where required by law.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural / targeted advertising.

5. International data transfers

Elegans is operated by Estyn Software, based in the United States, with our partner Lat51 in Germany; our processors (including Beehiiv and Cloudflare) are also in the United States. If you access the site from the EEA or Switzerland, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

6. Cookies and tracking

We keep tracking to a minimum. Our analytics are cookieless, and we do not run third-party advertising or "abandoned cart" tracking on this site. Our email platform (Beehiiv) and host (Cloudflare) may set limited functional cookies needed to operate the subscribe form and keep the site secure. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as you remain on the waitlist or until you ask us to delete it (or unsubscribe), unless a longer period is required by law. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access your information; correct it; delete it; obtain a copy; restrict or object to processing; and (in some US states) opt out of "sale"/"sharing" and targeted advertising. We do not sell or share your data for those purposes, but you can still exercise these rights.

If you are in the EEA and believe we have processed your information unlawfully, you may complain to your local data protection authority (in Germany, your state data protection authority).

9. Children

This site and the waitlist are intended for business users aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
